🧠 You are someone whose life keeps getting better

that is simply the pattern now

Maybe it all works out because you decided it would?

THREE mindsets to help you reflect, rebel, and reinvent…

1. Burn the boats and you’ll find happiness.

There’s an assumption in life that having more options make us happier - more flexibility, more exits, more chances to revise. But research from Daniel Gilbert suggests the opposite: the ability to reverse decisions can actually undermine our happiness.

In one study, participants chose a photograph to take home. One group’s choice was final while the other could swap later. Counterintuitively, those locked into their decision ended up liking their photo more.

The difference wasn’t the choice, it was their relationship with their choice.

Gilbert explains this through our “psychological immune system,” which helps us reinterpret and find meaning in what we have - but only when we can’t change it. When the door closes, the mind commits. When it stays open, the mind keeps comparing, looping through “what ifs,” and never settles.

We don’t become dissatisfied because we chose poorly, we become dissatisfied because we never stop evaluating. In relationships, careers, and creative pursuits, we hedge. We keep one foot out the door. Certainly reinvention, letting go, and starting over is the ultimate gift in life. But we need to give our decisions time to unfold. Give them time and find peace in them by burning the boats. No turning back (for now).

So, perhaps the path to happiness is to stop asking, “Is this the best option?” and start asking, “How do I make this the right choice?”

The real cost of always having a Plan B is that Plan A never feels like home.

So decide. Commit. Let your mind do the rest.

2. Speak in the past tense about the future.

Speak like it’s already happened, even if it hasn’t yet.

"I'm grateful I got through this.”

"I'm grateful I found love.”

”I’m grateful the money came in.”

Words carry energy, so speak from faith.

3. Life is done testing you

… is about to start spoiling you.

I know it doesn't look like it. I know you've been waiting a long time. But just because it hasn’t happened yet does not mean it won’t.

The most powerful thing you can do is let yourself be delusional about a future that doesn't exist yet.

Psychologists call it "positive expectancy." People who expect good outcomes statistically achieve more, recover faster, and attract better opportunities.

đźš« "I don't know if this will work out."

âś… "I don't know how this works out, but I know it does."

You’ve held on too long and worked too hard for this to end in nothing. That was never the plan. The plan was always so much better. It still is.

The best thing that's ever happened to you is still on its way.

Some things I’m excited about…
