🧠"I want more"
is your future self guiding you forward
The entire point of life is to change the plot as often as needed so your future self never has to wonder what if.
PS: if you work for a company/organization and you’re interested in bringing “the language of optimism” to your team, visit this page. I’ve taught the science and soul of optimism for organizations like Nespresso, Meta, Chase, Microsoft, and Mattel and would love to bring it to your company.
THREE mindsets to help you reflect, rebel, and reinvent…
1. Ask yourself this question to become magnetic
One of the most fascinating discoveries in psychology is that humans don’t just communicate verbally, we synchronize physiologically. In moments of connection, speech rhythms align, breathing patterns match, posture mirrors, and even heart rates can begin to sync.
This matters because people aren’t first deciding what they think about you, they’re deciding how they feel around you. The people who hear the most yeses in life are often the ones who create this sense of ease quickly in others.
Which leads to a useful question before any interaction: “am I trying to experience this moment, or control its outcome?”
Wanting a result is human. But trying to control it while it’s unfolding is where people lose their rhythm. The moment you try to make something happen, you introduce pressure. And people feel that, even if you never say a word. Control turns the person in front of you into a means to an end - validation, approval, etc. Trying to genuinely experience the moment does the opposite. It lets the interaction breathe. It allows something real to form.
Control makes you early. You laugh too soon, speak too soon, push too soon. Experience brings you back to timing. You let the moment land before reacting. You respond instead of perform.
So ask yourself: “am I trying to experience this moment, or control its outcome?”
2. The hard part is over
Nothing meant for you has missed you. It's still on the way.
Everything is going to be ok. You can exhale. Nothing else is going to fall apart.
Something great is going to happen to you this week. And then another. That's how it starts.
You are not walking into more of the same. The next stretch of your life is not going to look like the last one.
You will not be tired in the way you've been tired for the last few years.
You’re about to be standing in a life that proves all that redirection was an upgrade.
3. Notice the signs…
Don’t be surprised when you talk to the universe and it answers back at 11:11, through song lyrics, or sunsets. Life leaves signs for people who decide it’s all aligning.
Some things I’m excited about…
The Language of Optimism
If you work for an organization, company, or community group that could use some more optimism, I’d love to chat. I travel the country teaching how to create genuine optimism through language. Learn more here.
About your ambitions…
The entire point of life is to trust the universe didn’t plant that wild idea in you without giving you the ability to make it come true.
Reinvention…
Sometimes you have to burn the script you were handed and write one that actually fits your soul. This time with better taste. Hotter. Wiser. More audacious.
That’s it for today. See you next time.
