🧠 They say they want a partner...

but do they want to BE a partner?

mindfulness for rule breakers, free spirits, & inner peace enthusiasts

Hello, friend. I hope you’re feeling at peace with yourself today. If you need a push in the right direction, there's no greater reminder of your power and capacity for inner peace than journaling. It reminds you that you have your own back. That deep down you know what you need to do. It reminds you of what you deserve. Who you deserve. If you’re looking to start journaling, my new guided journal The Bold Journal is available now.

Here are three mindsets to help you think differently.

THREE mindsets to help you reflect, rebel, and reinvent…

1. Don’t let a “false fail” discourage you

I'm fascinated by Safi Bahcall's "False Fail" - when something fails not because of the quality of the idea, but because of its execution. da Vinci failed to fly, but that didn't make flying impossible. How many great ideas have been abandoned because of a "false fail"? (Dara)

When was the last time you gave yourself a second chance? You give them to other people all the time... but what about YOU? Second chances are a testament to your worth - that no matter what happened or didn’t happen - you’re still worthy of another try. Maybe your first try was a “false fail” and your goal or standards just needs new energy and new effort?

In what areas of your life have you talked yourself out of what you originally wanted because of a false fail? Behind a strong person is a story of someone who had the courage to start over and give themselves a second chance.

2. They want a partner but do they want to BE a partner?

Today’s episode of the podcast is for you if you’ve ever been frustrated by people who say they want to be in a relationship, but don’t prove it.

The topic: why do some people say they want to be a partner, but don’t want to BE a partner?

  • how to spot these kinds of people

  • should you “date for marriage?”

  • what is the best “outcome” in dating?

Listen here.

3. The next part of your life…

It’s your life, feel free to reinvent yourself. You’re writing a story, not serving a life sentence. In what ways can you reinvent yourself? What old mindsets can you leave behind? What new mindsets can you embrace?

Here are some ideas to inspire you. The next part of your life begins when:

  • you decide you deserve to be loved even if you’re still learning to love yourself

  • you decide it’s not selfish to want to be treated right

  • you decide you should never have to convince someone to choose you

  • you decide “good enough” is no longer part of your vocabulary

  • you decide you’re done being subtle about what and who you want

  • you decide to give yourself the same love you others give others

  • you decide “failed” love simply means a higher standard for yourself
