🧠 Don't put it down, put it away

(a life-changing mindset)

mindfulness for rule breakers, free spirits, & inner peace enthusiasts

Hey, friend. Call this chapter of your life “the things I deserve are no longer negotiable” and see how it changes things.

Let’s get into it. Here are three mindsets to help you change the trajectory of your life.

THREE mindsets to help you reflect, rebel, and reinvent…

1. Don’t put it down, put it away

Listen to today’s podcast where I talk about how to create peace within yourself through mindfulness. I talk about how to go into 2024 with clarity and where you’re not in the passenger seat with your emotions driving.

  • what mindfulness really is

  • how to find peace within yourself

  • take back your power

2. Do you believe in good karma?

It's interesting to me how we're all wired to believe in bad karma. Someone cuts you off in traffic, and we expect the universe to serve them a flat tire as cosmic payback. But do you believe in good karma? The universe isn’t just some debt collector… It has a generous heart and a long memory when it comes to acts of kindness.

Good karma comes from loving when you don’t have to, respecting someone who doesn’t deserve it, or supporting someone who has never supported you.

That is good karma. And it’s always amplified such that:

All the times you were open and eager with others and you kept your hopes up waiting for a call or a text but never got it… it will come back to you and it will be with someone who would never leave you hanging like that.

All the times you took interest in others and showed them respect and love but you were left to feel overlooked, misunderstood, or unworthy… it will come back to you and you be recognized in ways that will make you feel totally at peace and proud of who you are.

Every act of goodness you dish out is a rebellion against a world of indifference, so make this your mantra: “Nothing I do that is well intentioned and kind is ever wasted.”

3. Are you too close to see the answer?

Is there something you're so close to in life that you don’t see the way out, the thing you should do, maybe the way you should react or feel?

This might help. I saw a thread on Reddit where someone asked: “what is the most helpful thing your therapist has ever said to you?”

Here was someone’s answer: My therapist and I were discussing how I felt about a pretty deep betrayal from my now ex-wife. I was beating myself up for not seeing how bad she really was when there was plenty of evidence.

My therapist wrote down something on his yellow notepad and then held it up right in my face, practically touching my nose.

He said "what's that say?"

I couldn't read it; it was too close to my face. Stepping back from it a bit, it could read it said "you're too close to see it." He was right.

I was too close to the problems and the situation to have been able to see it where in retrospect it was so obvious. I stopped beating myself up over it and was able to let it go.

Think about that thing that’s on your mind that you can’t escape or find clarity on.

Take a step back. Maybe you’re too close. Try asking yourself: if a friend were to ask you what to do, what would you say?

If a friend were to ask you what to do, what would you say?

Sometimes clarity presents itself when you find a way to observe instead of feel and in this case this question, if a friend were to ask you what to do, what would you say might be just the thing you need to take a step back.

That’s it for today. Until Monday,
